are there any files that need to be deleted or replaced in any of the drives ? (c:,e:,f:)

also I put all the files that were in the zip from 9n1 in a seperate file in e: ran the
default.xbe through boxplorer & it worked fine.

for C:\ you need to rename the default.xbe to whatever your 'boot filename' is (X2 BIOSes boot evoxdash.xbe and nexgen.xbe)

thanks for the reply, but still no go.

What I'm saying is that your BIOS does not normally boot "default.xbe" from the C:\ as a dashboard.

M$ Original BIOSes booted "xboxdash.xbe", and newer ones often boot "evoxdash.xbe" or "yboxdash.xbe" or something similar....

You need to find the correct 'boot name' and use that.

I know what U are saying & thats what I did. I have a x2:l with this as my bios.
x2 4076.02-blue noani,x2 4076.02-blue noani,x2 4076.02-red noani,x2 4076.02-red noani.
the bule x2 bios boots evodash.xbe & red boots mxm.xbe both in c:.
I renamed default.xbe to mxm.xbe & it still doesn't work.

I'll just mod my x2 4976.02 to boot mxm 9n1 from e: if I can get this prob fixed.

Thanks for your help BenJeremy

Theres a nice program called x-selector. You can try dashboards from a simple menu and it is not bios dependent what your dash is called. I got mxm as default but evox, ava and ngen if something goes wrong.
