0.0.0.0 Err X Using Wga54g
« on: January 05, 2006, 12:12:00 PM »

I bought this little 'beauty' yesterday and got it all hooked up and working right. Meaning it's on my wireless network and I can connect to it using my wireless laptop. I plug it into my xbox and I get that infamous Err X w/ an ip of 0.0.0.0 Here's how my networking settings are:

DHCP: Enabled
Static IP: 192.168.1.111
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 <---I've heard that you use the router's ip, and then again I've heard you use the wga's          ip, which one is it? I tried both and neither worked.
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
DNS1: 192.168.1.1 <--- router's ip again

I have both MAC addresses from the wga (wired & wireless) on the filter on my router, in addition to my xbox's MAC address. Not sure what else I can do, thanks.

Oh my God, I got it working. The only thing I did was disable DHCP on my xbox. Wow.

I'm struggling with the same setup. The WGA54G works fine when its connected to my desktop (I can access my wireless network) but when I have it plugged into my XBOX my XBOX can not access my wireless network.

Settings:
XBOX
Static IP: 192.168.0.7
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1 <- I have tried the DNS listed on my desktop as well.

Wireless router
ip: 192.168.0.1

WGA54G

ip:192.168.0.20
gateway: 192.168.0.1

Any suggestions, ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
