I'm not sure for the Avalaunch FTP problem, but mess around with the network settings in the 'Settings' of the Avalaunch dashboard since you are using a cross-over cable, you might have to assign a constant IP address.  That's just a guess though.

For evox to be found as an App, just put all the Evox files in the directory F:/Apps/Evox than rename the Evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe

That should solve your second problem.  Good luck with the FTP thing, though.
