Networking Question
« on: July 26, 2005, 07:38:00 AM »

This is something i just read for a crossover cable:

Running through a Crossover Cable
If your going to be running straight through with a crossover cable you'll need to change some of the settings in the avalaunch.xml document.

First you'll need to change the type="dchp" to type="static"
Next you'll need to assign an IP to your xbox. Something like 192.168.0.2 should work fine. DO NOT enter your computer's IP address here though.
Your subnet should be 255.255.255.0

my question is how to i change my xbox's ip address and how to i change it from "dchp" to "static?"

You'll only need quix. first off make the subnet mask and the default gateway the same for the xbox and computer. then the IP's match all except the last number, make them different.
In avalaunch you can go into settings and network to set it to static and set the ips.

Yeah you have to go into settings on the xbox dash, or you could just make the computers ones match the xbox. I am not sure what you mean about bringing files from the game?
