Did you get the right one though?  One of the 1.09 version of firmwares is designed for the retail model and the other is for the OEM.  Not sure what the difference is but I was just curious if that was an issue.

I have already upgraded my firmware and still the same problem.  I think it is crazy to return the drive for that one reason.  I hope this is the last DVD burner I will buy until blue-ray comes out.  I have had no other problems with the drive and I'm very happy with it.

Nero 6.6 (Reloaded) may be the culprit. According to oj213 used the same version of nero as I did.  Maybe it is because of Nero's new Lead-out.  Just a thought.

Here is a quote from Doom9.org about Nero:

"Ahead has finally released Nero 6.6 (AKA Reloaded). The new version can burn discs with short lead-outs, thus giving you a few more MBs per disc. The new NeroVision package (including an updated Recode 2) can process burned films, but is still lacking the much awaited H.264 NeroDigital codec"

Do u know at exactly what version they added this? Because it might be worth going to the release just prior and checking if the same results occur. Has anyone else tried Recordnow Max 4.5 and had success aswell?

I burned using DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0.  In fact, I didn't even try Nero (don't like using it for images, sometimes does the lead-out forever).  I'll give RecordNow a try and see; I can only hope because I"m running out of HD space quickly (my old 106 went out).

That is interesting.  I have to say I am glad I am short on funds ATM, so I can't purchase one of these yet.  I'm sure it will be a great drive in the next few weeks when they get issues sorted out.  It could be that the software is also in desperate need of an update (ie Nero, DVD Decrypter).  Another program to try would be Prassi ONES, since it is based off the same software as RNM. wink.gif
