I've had mixed results regardless of method. Look at the apple .x file in my directory listed in a previous post and I think you will see what I mean.

I was going to do that, but no one had a good version of the guy in 3d, or 2d. Just a 3d shot of him in 2d. Does that make sense? lol. Anyways good job.

i'm using 3dsmax 5 with panda export and my shit comes out all black and there's no lighting at all
anyone know wtf i'm doing wrong? i'm new to playing with 3dsmax and converting to directx files
i've tried tons of options in the export plugin

btw, if know easier way to do this with 3dsmax 5 and deep exploration, plz lemme know cuz i have it too

For anyone using Maya here is a tutorial from MS on how to export .x files from Maya.

and the needed sdk for the plug-in

Not sure if there is anyone out there like me that prefers Maya over 3DS, but these links will help a lot.
