Japan Xbox Cannot Play Us Version Enter The Matrix
« on: May 26, 2003, 11:02:00 PM »

I have a Japanese version Xbox, (NTSC, region 2).  I backed up US version Enter the Matrix on DVD-R, using FlashFXP. During boot up of the back up, it gives me a black screen 2 lines of white dots, after reading the numerous ETM posts, it is still not clear to me how to make DVD-R backup work.

Therefore, I experimented various ways, and found that after changing my region from NTSC 2 to NTSC 1, using ConfigMagic, the games loads fine.  I have burnt other US region 1 games before and have no problem.

Does that mean newer games are able to check region code, even under Xecuter 4976.02 Bios?

Thanks.

Yes we know already.... There is several games like this.

There are ways to remove the check from the xbe... but no one is willing to publically do it.

The bios doesnt at present remove this.

Thanks iykyu, it works! I have the Japanese xbox as well.  I have the exact same problem like yours.  I follow your method to change to NTSC 1.  It loads up now.  Cool!
