If this is a pogo pin mod, check the alignment.  It does sound like the LPC points are misaligned.

i am also having a problem similar to this, same chip too, it tries to boot 3 times, then just boots showing red leds instead of green color.. i dont know wuts wrong with it

Same here.  With my box, if I put the cover on, it does the turn-on, turn-off, green/red flash dance.  If I take the cover off, it works fine with the mod chip.

Also, with the cover on, it will boot with the mod disabled (switch turned off) but it goes to the Clock setting screen as if it lost it's date and time.
