I'm trying to fix someone's modded xbox for them. I put a chip in a long time ago, and used a very old evox bios. Now i want to update it, but i can't.
I've created a custom Evox bios, added the MD5 into a new ROM line in evox.ini, and started up the box with boot protect off. I can see the light flash several times when i hold down the button.
I go to FlashBios, and select the bios. Then i get the error "Manufacturers ID ff Device ID ff !! Flash not writeable !!"
I think that maybe the chip is damaged? Whenever i try to boot an .xbe file it freezes up. Eg. i can start the xbox up with an Evox CD, but when i launch a title (UnleashX) from the CD, all i get is the Evox logo, and the xbox freezes (or goes to error 21). I was hoping that updating the Bios would fix this problem. But i can't flash it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
