"Make it a standalone DVD player, shouldn't be inside a dashboard." is an option in your poll, I pointed out that it is already stand-alone. So, it wouldnt really be any work for you to make a seperate release.

Then again, posts about the legality where deleted too, but that is an option as well. It seems that you dont really want to hear from people who dont think it should be in there, so what exactly is the purpose of leaving the thread open for discussion?

Keep it. It plays DVD, you can use the DVD menus, What more do u want? No need even to change it. Works fine for me.

heinrich - I brought up the legal issues, jokko and craiz just waned us to give credits to the mpeg2 engine authors so they can sue us. I think that's asking a bit too much =)

I said I was gonna delete it a day before it was deleted because it had nothing to do with the poll - so that people wouldn't complain about it =)

I love it... once apon a time I swore by MXM... but then I tried this new dash called Avalaunch... who would have ever guessed I'd never boot MXM again... LOL. I was hooked with the built in File Browser (by xplorer)... now a DVD Player... bye DVD Player... hey is there anyway I can get built in Tivo... I would never turn my xbox off... LOL. (the Tivo thing was a joke well I guess not really, thanks XP media center). Keep the DVD player, Please or I'm never upgrading again... LOL.

i personally think its an excellent feature that makes an already great dashboard even better, i definately think its worth keeping. as far as the legal issues go, i was thinking the same exact thing you said, its "illegal" right or wrong regardless of if the dvd player is there because of the xdk. i definately hope to see the dvd player around still in the next release.

the dvd player is useless if you are using a 3rd party dvd-rom ...it just doesnt play dvds...it can read the files from the dvd but the dvd player is missing the code to check for 3rd party dvd-rom drives...THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP!!!!!!!! please

hmmm, how do we check this ? We dont have a 3rd party dvd player in the team, so I don't know how to fix.

i think he means if you have a Pc DVD-rom drive in the xobx, and not an official Xbox drive.
