Can't Get Netprep Working?
« on: October 10, 2004, 08:32:00 AM »

I've tried getting netprep working but it can't find the install files.

My computer has the ip address 10.0.0.200 and I've created a shared directory called 'HD_Install'. Inside the 'HD_Install' directory I've created a directory called 'Avalaunch' which includes the C/E/F directories with the files it needs to install.

The netprep.ini is as follows:

smbserver=10.0.0.200/HD_Install
dhcp=disabled
ip=10.0.0.100
autostart=Avalaunch

I tried dhcp disabled and enabled I also tried some different ip addresses for my pc, but I keep getting the message 'No installset found'. It formats and partitions the HD and then I get the message.

If I try the address '\\10.0.0.200\HD_Install\Avalaunch' in my browser I see the directory list so the share seems to work fine.

Can anyone tell my what might can go wrong?

Also I can't boot the CD-RW which I've created with netprep on it, but it does read the contents in the file manager so the disc is ok.

Does netprep might require some other files or are the default.xbe and netprep.ini enough?

Ok never mind ;) so stupid but I always disable the windows guest account so that was the problem.

Although I still can't run netprep from a CD :(
