so your saying only about 5 people should have voted, its just a poll.  If people like one or the other let them say it.

i didnt mean that only 5 people should have voted, i was only saying who can vote with least bias. but i just cant see how people can vote for zune if theyve never even held one

I saw that too, sadly it's $499 US ($588 cdn) for the 4GB version and $599 US  ($699 cdn) for the 8GB version, a bit too much for my wallet.
In regards to the poll I voted Zune back in early December (not having tried either just based on features, and a desire for some healthy competition) but just now ended up getting a refurbished 40GB iPod for $150 cdn ($126 US).  Still if they were the same price I'd take a Zune over an iPod any day

i like the creative zen vision w.
it has a bigger screen then the ipod
with the same amount of hd space.
For the same price.

Amen to that !  I got a Zen Vision M for Christmas and I love it.  It was purchased on sale for $180 and I'm ripping all of my favorite movies and songs to it.  The movies look fantastic and only take up about 700MB of the 30GB disk.  The iPod is all about the name and the iTunes integration, although I do have to admit that I like the Nano a lot.

I just picked up a 2G Ultra Hydra for $40.  Compared to the $80 1G ipod shuffle, it kicks ass.  Ipod shuffle does not have a display, and required iTunes.  F**k apple and thier mandatory software.  My hydra just uses windows explorer (standard file manager for you appel people).

ANYTHING BUT IPOD!!

iPod (video), the first, the original, the best.
It's none of those things. Archos had the first HD-based MP3 player to market 6 months before the first iPod. Their players have been video compatible far longer and are currently are considered by many to be the king of portable video devices.

And unlike the iPod, you have a multitude of choices for downloads, and need absolutely NO proprietary software. In fact, you just dock the device and it shows up as a harddrive. You can even dock and share player to player with no DRM or restrictions. www.archos.com - king of PMP's. They'll even do MP4, AAC, mov, Divx, MPEG, MPEG2, you name it.

How about WiFi streaming your media from your PC? Done. Browsing the net and checking email? Done. Quality, 4th generation construction? Done. Removable battery? Done. External high-res video camcorder option? Done. Tivo-like docking station to record content? Done.

I go with Ipod Video, because i wish i had one.. My ipod is years old.. the gold ol' monochrome screen and four buttons under.. but can't complain, i have never had a single problem with it. On the other hand, even though i love my xbox and 360. I've gone through 4 xbox's and i'm on my second 360. Can't say i trust Microsoft's hardware manufacturing.

The Archos does look quite interesting though. like to hold one and check out the construction.. the buttons appear slightly shoddy.

Right now the Ipod is the best. Zune will have problems for sure and if you are buying one right now i'm pretty sure you will have to return it !! pop.gif
