You can ask this in apple developer forums. Maybe tossing this idea over there will help you in some way.

I'm going to try to help u but it could be that when u upgraded your ps3 if u kept the old one and switched different components it could be that its not compatible with the old systems parts. If thats not the case it could be that the 250gb is to big and crashes your processor on your ps3 because of outdated hardware. If you don't think this answer is good ill delete it if possible.
