Streaming To Someone Else's House
« on: October 24, 2009, 01:13:00 PM »

hi,
I stream using ps3 media server from my PC through my router via hard wire to my ps3. My question is, is it possible for me to stream to say my girlfriends house? So I could leave my PC running, go to her house, turn on the ps3 there, and watch the movies remotely? If so, how would I do it?

ive never done this myself but it seems that all you would need to do is open ports for the media server that sent it to your main ip address rather than your internal ip such as instead of 192.168.0.1 it would be reachable to whatever your main ip address is .. that way anywhere you go you should be able to receive the content. although it might be kind of laggy since your using your upload speed to send it. hope this helps.

I think TVersity has a network function that allows you to access it via the internet, though I've never tried it and anything HD might be slow.
