Didn't Backup Hdd Can I Extract Data Anyways?

Thank you for any and all help provided,

  When I upgraded my PS3 HDD to a 250gb I didn't back it up, all I did was switch the drives. I have the the old 60gb on a external enclosure I connected it to the ps3 to try and copy over my game saves. System did not detect the drive is there any way to copy over the data?
