Ps3 Controller Southpaw
« on: June 05, 2009, 08:46:00 PM »

That's not an easy task at all, swapping anything from the left side of the controller to the right side is a bit of a major undertaking. The reason for that is because the PS3 controllers use 3 common lines, 1 is for the D-pad and L1/2 buttons, another for the Select, Start and Stick buttons, then the last one is for the X, O, [ ], /\ and R1/2. Swapping anything that shares the same common line isn't too difficult, like R2 to R1, X to R1 or D-pad up to L1, L1 to L2 etc., etc. But to swap a button that uses one common line to a button that uses another, X to L1 for example, is a serious PITA because of the way the controller is made.

I'm not saying it can't be done, I've swapped the L1/2 and R1/2 buttons, but what ya have to go thru to do it really isn't worth it, plus it has to be done on the older version controllers that still have the connector for the daughter board and you'll have to trash one controller to get the other one wired up right.
