Will I Get Optical Sound If I Use Hd-dvi

i am thinking about getting a ps3 and a dell 2407 monitor. i am hoping someone can confirm i can still use the optical input on my reciever for digital sound.

Yes you can. The audio out options are selectable separately. I have HDMI to the TV but sound output via the optical to a receiver.
