They could sit on the idea for however many years, and then when another company does all the hard work and makes a profit... Sony can sue them.

It would be like the Immersion case in reverse.

"however many years" = 10, which IIRC is the lifespan of patent protection
...
Now copyrights are something else altogether.

As a VR Device collector (I've got a lot of random old VR junk

) This sounds pretty standard fair until you get to the part about touch feedback... THAT is definitely something new, and IMO makes for one of the essential features that has prevented VR from taking off in the past.
