the reason behind them using Bluetooth is probably because of their tight relationship with Ericsson who are one of the big companies behind bluetooth.

back to top, IF ps3 can support 7 wireless controller, then why will every led be labeled 1,2,3,4?

it would seem highly unethical if sony used 2 or more led's to call it a 5th,6th,and 7th player dont ya think???

just a little confused. if Sony backs 7 players wirelessly then why not put 7 led's on each controller???

its all a ploy, 7 devices maybe but 7 player games NAH  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif) . i wonder what exactly will the other 3 be mics and the 4th talks to himself or screams into the closest mic, cams maybe but why would m$ release a wired cam and not wireless, racing wheel sure but then that would just be 1 of the 4 controllers.

imo come NOV. (well Q1 08' cause we all know thats when they will launch it) they will anounce 4 players and the 7 was just an "idea" or brain fart

the way those quarter calenders start i think late november is q1 of the next year, and i agree that the 7 player idea will go the way of the "Dual 1080p output" (or should i say "The only real high definition" that won't be in the core version at all tongue.gif)

does blu tooth mean no LAN either?? or is it 7 to a console.  I also heard that using other blu tooth devices in range would cut down the number of controllers you can use.... true??

blue tooth doesn't mean no lan. it wouldn't effect wired connections for obvious reasons, and 802.11x and bluetooth aren't the same thing.

also, blue tooth devices in range with the ps3 shouldn't effect it as long as they are on a differant channel (kind of like how 802.11x has multiple channels on the wireless spectrum, bluetooth has that too.

and there is a 'e' in blue wink.gif

not that i care if there is support for 7 players but if not for the other post discussing how they could turn all the leds on and turn one off for the next number 5-8

u can also think of it as in they can do the 5-7 easily with basic math

4+1 = 5
4+2 = 6
4+3 = 7

and there is no 4+4 because only 7 devices are supported

also it like someone else posted it wouldnt 7 split screens but rather a mario party or sports game where u can share a screen or take turns.

Lol yeah... well as to what it really is now, the PS3's controller only has 4 LEDs like they have been saying and it shows controllers 5, 6 and 7 the way that TdoubleD038 said. As for the number 7, they used that because the bluetooth router or what ever it is for bluetooth can only support 8 devices so 7 are for controllers and the other one is for a headset.
