Hey everyone i want to install CFW to my ps3 but i want to know do i have to jailbreak it or can i just install CFW as i know how to also my firmware is lower than 3.55 thanks heaps guys.

Im not 100% sure on what u r saying but i think all fw 3.55 and below can be jailbroken/cfw im on 3.55kemew or whatever it is called smile.gif, what i did was upgrade to 3.55 then enter safemode and install the 3.55cfw over the top of the stock and bam jailbroken ps3 smile.gif

You can install CFW without a J/B device on a PS3 because the available CFWs are signed. The PS3 must be on OFW <=3.55 and as far as I am aware you have a choice in CFW of either 3.41 or 3.55. Note. whichever you choose, it is recommended that the PS3 must be on the corresponding OFW version. For example, if you wanted CFW 3.55 and your PS3 was on OFW 3.41, you would need to install OFW 3.55 and then install CFW 3.55 over the top.
Thankfully the days of the PS3 J/B are over.
