Today the kids upgraded the PS3 after I took off the DNS hack and they could not play games on line I thought I would let everyone know that you don't brick your PS3 if you upgrade from 3.55 geohot and waninkoko and fully pimped to Sony 3.56. You don't need to go back to Sony original firmware first before you upgrade. Of course none of the homebrew works anymore even though they are all signed. I suspect sony created a happy list of apps they don't (or even better do) like and then disable everything else. So unless your app is on the approved listed and passes some type of checksum then it won't run on 3.56
So now my box is back to vanilla PS3 as I wait for hacked 3.56 firmware so I can go back to working on homebrew for the PS3 I thought I owned.
