I've had the PS3 for 3 days now. Upgraded to firmware 1.82 the day I got it.
I have a 50" panasonic plasma (50px60u) with latest firmware, Using HDMI cable.
The problem I have is dvd play back is terrible quality. The shadows of people's faces are yellow. I dont exactly know how to describe it. Dark scenes has a greenish tint, picture is not sharp at all.
I have a Xbox w/ XBMC and all my dvd movies look great on that. I thought it was the HDMI cable that was bad, so I switched it out to a different one. I've tried the picture settings on the tv. tried different resolutions. I played with all the settings in the ps3, but I am unable to get a good picture. Video games look good, havent tried Blu-ray yet.  I hear everyone rave how well the ps3 is at upconverting dvd movies, i dont even know why I cant get even an OK image.
I've pretty much spent the last 2 days trying to troubleshoot, want to see if anyone know the issue.

In these 2 images, the shadow around his mouth is yellow.

In this image , the left part of his face and neck was very yellow.

In this image, king kong's right part is blue with a light green tint.

It doesn't do that on mine at all. If you have tried the settings to no avail, take it back.
