There was an article a very long time ago that said that performance was improved.  Basically that is taken as hogwash because the xbox bus is only 33mhz so the cable inside is all that is needed.  If you want to put it in go ahead, but you wont notice any difference.

just put it in it came with the hard drive so might as well use it eh? lol
