XNA boss Chris Satchell has told Eurogamer that proof-of-concept game development for the handheld media device is progressing very nicely.
"That touchpad is great," said Satchell, who demonstrated a basic Zune shoot-'em-up called Zauri at GDC in February. "I'm used to mobile games and it's always terrible. Not the games, but the input. And so this sort of blew me away."

Another thing that excites Satchell at the moment is co-operative games played over Wi-Fi. "One of the things we talked about was the network play, and we've had people doing prototypes internally of multiplayer shoot-'em-ups both in versus and co-op," he said.

Games on the Zune would be very cool.

I find mine boring at times cause I can't find time to convert my movies over to WMV.

For god sakes, just make a portable game system Microsoft. Stop screwing around with the Zune.

This has been confirmed about 20 times already. Zune 30 will get games, it just doesn't have the thumbstick-emulator-type input.

SECONDED

If there is a decent array of XBLA or similar games and you can get achievements, then I'm having one, simple as that.

Whatever happened to Xbox Live anywhere by the way?

Yeah, same here, they are really screwing over the early adopters, the few of us that are out there. I don’t think there would be a second Zune with out us.

There's already a struggling portable game system on the market, you may have heard of it. It's called the PSP. Now granted, I think the Xbox Portable, 180, or XB Zune would do a lot better if they didn't do like Sony and use memory stick and UMD media. But honestly it really would be nice to play Halo 1 on a portable system you could play online using wifi and play a 16 player game on sidewinder or 8 player game on chill out.
