someone may have already said this, but when i saw they name, i saw wii and thought "why" (as a pronounciation) and that is the same question i'm asking myself now, "why nintendo why, revolution was such a cool name" at least the system looks pretty cool and they confirmed smash bros3 at e3 last year, i think it will be a good system, just has what in my opinion is a dumb name (even if it is pronounced we and not why)

maybe i'll just case mod it so the case says revolution

Hey i just thoguht of something....maybe nintendo should bring out the wii in different colors!

i can imagine a convo between 2 people:

'Hey come ova to my place and play my red wii!!'
''nah red wii is crap come play my green wii'

people walking past will think 'WTF are they on!!??'

and it will go downhill from there......

they really shouldve kept revolution.

the only thing i dont like, is that when i call everyday trying to find one for my niece so i dont have to give her mine for christmas, i have to say "do you have any nintendo wii's" because if i say "you have any wii's in stock" half the time they say "huh? whats that? come again"

other than that, its better than revolution, because thats just kinda generic.

I never hated it, and certainly wasn't one of those people who refused to use it. I definitely try to use the most appropriate names for things.

It's grown on me a bit, but I still feel funny using it in a sentence aloud. Though I do sill try to avoid the term when speaking with people who might not be familiar with the name. Typically saying things like "the new Nintendo console" or just calling it a "Nintendo" etc.

I am quite surprised with how many people are actually familiar with it though.

I've never hated it, but it does sound a little childish to me. I'm with ts on this one, I just call it the Nintendo around the house, or the new Nintendo system to people who might be unfamiliar with it.
