Don't worry about hosing the bios. if you read up on what your flashing you will be fine.

also with the overclocking your cpu thingy, it's as easy as sticking a higher number in. thats all i did. you just have to make sure the temps dont get too high.

Also when i overclocked my cpu my computer locked up the next time i tried to boot. I had put in a too high number.. sad.gif just look for the clear cmos jumper on your motherboard and take that off and away you go again.

www.overclockers.com is a website based around overclocking (duh)

edit:

Actually goto http://www.overclockers.com/links/ instead and goto a page from there.

And btw I wouldnt rush this if you dont know how to fix it!

But now I'm happy to own an Asus, but afraid to overclock again haha.
Just be careful!

im really trying to get rid of some " latency "

my problem with the emachine is
using cake walk software and using a usb " sound card/box " ( audiophile )

im picking up a small amout of lag

interesting enough
the dell 2400 ( with the same chipset as the emachine ) doesnt have any lag ( or delay in sound )

i swapped the ram between the 2 that didnt help ( 512 pc 2700 )

the only difference is the dell is running 2192.8 ( multiplier @ 22.0 )

and the emachine is at 1694.5 ( multiplier @ 17.0 )

im currently serching for a bios that would enable fsb/ram volts/ in the emachine

i dont think im looking for much of an increase

anybody know anything ?
or is it plain and simple - no bios for an emachine ?

 thanx

I doubt an updated bios from the same manufacturer will suddenly add features such as overclocking.  But it doesn't hurt to look.  You need to find out what mobo you have.
