"super" Viruses
« on: June 08, 2004, 02:44:00 PM »

I was checking my hard drive today and I found that my 80 gig with windows dropped to 74.5 gigs. I went to have it checked and they said that I must have some viruses that partition thier own personal areas on the hd and sets up the BIOS so that the hd's size is the normal part.  If you could understand my grammar my question is: Is there a virus scanner that ignores the bios and scans the full HD?

Yeah, but "every major harddrive manufacturer in the world" would never tell customers the smaller than advertised drive volume is the result of a "super-virus" creating its own partition.

I don't even think anyone who's completed middle school computer class would tell you that...except as a joke.
