Ps2 Chips
« on: June 05, 2004, 02:45:00 PM »

Ok, i have just purchased a PS2 just really to play the final fantasy games and the new great releases of games such as the new Gran Turismo.

I just want to know as i am new to the PS2 modding scene, what modchip should i use and what is the difference between them as the PS2 is a very simple console unlike the different chips you can have for the xbox!

Can someone help me out in finding a chip? (btw. i am uk based so divineo.co.uk seems to be a good source)

No need for a chip? Get the HDDloader for PS2. It allows you to play PS2 games from your HDD. OR not....Magic, Matrix, DMS3 are good chips

This HD Loader looks good! but how big is the Playstation hard drive as i didnt even think it had one! So how many games would you be able to store? and would you need a modchip to run it?

the sony hd is 40gb, but you can plug in a standard hard drive up to 120gb

it says it doesnt need to be chipped. also you can put up to a 120gb HDD in there. just a normal ide HDD. but do not buy a Western Digital, they will reguire some fitting (as of what ice heard) i am not positive on WD though becuase no1 has got  HDD Loader yet. you will aslo need a network adapter
