2 Questions About Ps2

okay, first question, if i burn a compact disc game, such as bust a move 2 , will it work on a cdrw disc that i put in my ps2 :-).
2nd question is... my brother is here from germany, i live in ohio, and if he buys a ps2 modem can he hook it up in germany and get online. he has a pal ps2...so i didnt know if it would affect anything. and the fact that they have a german isp. someone help :-), i know like military people cant get xbox live, but didnt know if ps2 was the same

well the cd-rw didnt work, it didnt even come up with the screen that says "insert a ps1 or ps2 game" or the memory card screen, kinda strange
