According to the federal indictment, dogs that didn't show enough fighting spirit, or that lost matches, were put to death by a variety of methods, including shooting, drowning, hanging and electrocution.

Prosecutors allege that on one occasion earlier this year, Vick participated in the killing of eight dogs.

I don't understand this at all.

I read somewhere else (not sure where) that Vick would bet about $20,000 on each fight.  That really is pocket change considering:

Vick is one of pro football's highest-profile and highest-paid players, signing a 10-year, $130 million contract with the Falcons in 2004.

Vick was one of the few players that I would watch a whole football game just because one player was in it.  He has disappointed though, considering the massive contract he signed.

I'm trying to figure out where he is coming from, and maybe he really is just that stupid, but I don't get it.
