$7.1 Billion For Pandemic Flu Strategy.

It sounds like we are throwing away $7.1 billion to prepare for a pandemic flu outbreak by stockpiling flu vaccines.  We are spending $1.2 for 20 million flu shots.  Flu shots are useless if not used in several months.  $1 billion to stockpile antiviral drugs like Tamiflu, which does not show any effectiveness towards the avian flu virus.  $2.8 billion to speed the development of vaccines as new strains emerge... might as well give this money to the drug companies...

One thing that this bill does not address is amount of time that a flu vaccine needs to be made.  All flu vaccines are essentially made from culturing chicken eggs.  This process takes about 6 months time to mass produce vaccines.  By then it is too late.  The reason for last year's fiasco with the flu shots was because of this process.  Whereas we can make cell based flu shots in about a month.  Anyways, you can read it here.

It's all hysteria and hype. I'm tired of this flu vaccine business, it only helps if you have a weakened immune system and even if you get the shot there is no guarantee that it will work.

the bird flu bullshit is just bullshit, remember SARS? I do and it's the same shit, pharmaceutical companies propaganda to make more profit. Tell your family to avoid getting it and to not listen to cnn, fox or any other network news about health because they are in the pocket of the companies.
