Support The Troops?
« on: September 05, 2005, 02:14:00 AM »

My stepbrother just recently returned from Iraq, and we got to discussing politics of the war and assorted B.S.

First, I asked him about Mrs Jessica Lynch.  He smiled, She is the subject of a longstanding joke it would appear.  Many reservist dont understand the fascination with her story. On all accounts she threw down her weapon and began to cry, and
ask for her mother.

I had recently, returned home from working with a company that benifited quite
substatially from the Iraqi War. He states " Man I wish I could have got on that Bechtel gravy train"

This made me wonder why not privatize the entire war. Private security makes
in excess of $ 100.00 an hour doing same job as U.S. Army often standing beside
them. Yet army makes only a fraction of that $1000 per month.

Lastly, "Support the Troops" you know how you really support troops no matter your stance on the war. Call your respective Congressman and ask he/she:

  1) Increase military pay and benefits
  2) Better support mechanisms for military families(tuition medical)
  3) V.A. hospitals systems need to be reorganized revamped they
       dont work.

I come from a military family who has fought in every war this nation has
fought. I am not a Collin Powell nor am I an Oliver North.  But it irritates me that
those who sleep at night cozy in there bed while men and women stand guard
over them.  Yet men can rise to the station of commander in chief of the nation
and commit the greatest dishonor to those men and women.

I have been shot at and it is no fun it aint nothing like no video game and for darn sure there is no infinite health.

Not very long ago my stepmother was front page on papers when her son returned from Iraq after a year a week before the Fallujah uprisings.

" PRIDE GOETH BEFORE DESTRUCTION "

Remember this when you speak the name of those who have voluntered and sacrificed, take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself can you say the same.

You got one thing right for once!  Yes we should pay them more instead of handing out taxpayers dollars to a bunch of people that depend on the government and refuse to work.  I totally agree.  I didnt know what they were paid until myself and three brothers went to sign up.  I have athesma and they wouldnt take me, but they took the both of them and all I can say is they are lucky they have kids.  They get paid more for it but if your single and have no kids, forget it.  Although I guess 1400$ a month for a single guy isnt too bad, that is if you have no degree.  Your not going to make much more than that anyways.  People that have a desire to get a degree usually dont join from what I see.  Wow what a post.  See now Im confused.  All that youve said before and now you say this?  Hell yes support the troops.  I supported the troops even if I didnt agree with Clintons endeavors.  It wasnt his ass on the line same as it isnt W's.  I think we should be having telethons for them and throwing cash at them instead of a bunch of worthless non-working able bodied people who cant get the fuck out of dodge when they are told to and warned.  If you havent a way to take care of yourself by 25 (at the very least) then you are pathetic.  Both of my brothers knew what they were signing up for as well as I and both have been in Iraq.  They said all of the liberals who wouldnt fight if their mother was being kicked in the shins really decreased morale for a while.  They wondered "who the fuck are we fighting for?"  But eventually they saw through all of the BS as soon as they realized what was over there blowing up little kids in schools.  Nice post.  Didnt think you had it in you.   beerchug.gif

What is the price for peace?  Thats easy.  Life.  Same as all of the guys who died exterminating hitlers forces.  Although nobody really argues against that.  Saddam killed, or to be more precise, gassed tons of people and shot people in the head just to sleep with their wives and paid thugs to carry attacks on countries unjustified.  Milosevic did much of the same.  But I never hear of a liberal calling Clinton a war monger.  Amusing as usual.

Peace aint free.  Well all except for the people who move to Canada.  There its free.  No brains, no headaches.

Gettin voted into the white house
Everything lookin good to the people of the world

So every now and then I owe a favor gettin’ down
Like lettin’ a big drug shipment through
And send ’em to the poor community
So we can bust you know who
So voters of the world keep supportin’ me
And I promise to take you very far
Other leaders better not upset me
Or I’ll send a million troops to die at war

To all you republicans, that helped me win
I sincerely like to thank you
Cuz now I got the world swingin’ from my nuts
And damn it feels good to be a gangsta

"Only america believes in peace through war."  Ah, Ive realized your educational level.  So it was america only that fought the nazi's?  I question why we ever protected so many countries now.  They raised a bunch of idiots who will never realize who defended them.  Go read the list of the countries that made up the Alies.  Come back and tell me what countries have fought in the war against terror.  Japan, yep.  UK, yep.  Austrailia, yep.  Should I go on?  No, because you will just come back with "Bush is a peice of shit", thats all you people can say.  Like I said, no brains, no headaches.

So when you guys are saying peace, are you saying a utopia forever?  Because if thats your definition then let me clue you in on something.  That is a dream and will never happen.  You can go years and years without war, as we did, and some crazy muslim will bomb you.  Happened to the U.S., happened to Britain, happened to Italy, and it happened in Spain, to name just some of them.  So if your talking about everlasting peace, your believing in something that isnt real.  As long as there are extremists that wish your country harm, you have to defend it.  Plain and simple.

You didnt read what I said.  60 other countries are also involved directly in fighting this war.  Explain that to me.  Your saying america has no reason to but the others do?  LOOOOOOL

"who knows what they have up their sleeves"

Yes it is all a conspiracy.  To you guys (liberals) everything is.  God is a conspiracy.  America is a conspiracy.  People who help people MUST have some hidden agenda, thus, that is a conspiracy.  The media as a whole is a conspiracy.  Science is a conspiracy.  People who fight for their countries must have some hidden reason other than a feeling of nationalism and protecting their families, thats a conspiracy.  Because and you and all of you liberals on this board have said it best, "who knows what they have up their sleeves".  But people with their sleeves rolled up doing something about it?  They sir, are real magicians that mystify you because you cant understand what its worth to fight for something.  Go and run to Canada and take cover with your friends.  They will protect you and give you socialized medicine to boot!

Latin for "if you want peace, prepare for war" and that was not an american who proclaimed that.  Thats amazing isnt it.  Unfortunately thats reality and you people dont recognize that even if its hitting you between the eyes.  Thats the worlds reality.  Not the US governments LOL.

Well at least you admit that you think the institution of government is a conspiracy, most liberals wont admit that.  People that dont understand the way things work are most often afraid of them. Kind of like if you flashed fire in front of a dog.  And where do I stand?  Have you been reading the thread?  I think its quite obvious.  Just collect everything in your head that you believe in, and then think of the opposite.  Thats what I believe in.

Edit:  More on topic, I think that soldiers should be the highest paid profession in the country.  And yes I would gladly pay more taxes if it would benifit our troops.  Not Bush and his oil tycoon buddies.

War and revolution are always constants in this world.  Peace can never "truely" be achieved, unless the world is converted into a "1984" (the book) enviornment, but that wasn't really peace was it.  All I want is for our leaders to choose our battles wisely and fight them properly.  Defend our nation, policeing the world does not work, unless all countries are part of a single nation (won't and shouldn't happen).  It almost worked for the Romans, but then again they accepted the peoples they conqured cultures.  They didn't shove "McDonnalds" down their conqured countries throats.  I think that our culture destroying way of "liberating" the "savages", and trying to Americanize them is what spawns terrorism.  It is not souly Bush's fault.  It is just that Bush represents that American attitude toward any different culture that so many people hate (Including myself).  I love America, just not the 50% of them who voted for Bush and therefore cemented their American arrogence.

I'm not sying that we brought the terrorist attacks uppon our selfs, but we did and still do contribute towards the reason for it.  The only way to stop terrorism is either to accept our diferences or to completely wipe out any opposition to the way America works.  Bush has chosen a convoluted middle ground that will cost countless americans their lives in the future.

Don't hate Bush, pity (and maybe hate) those who voted for him an can't se passed him and his Neocon's bullshit.

On a side note I recieved one tax rebate of $600 dollars.  That dosn't really help much does it.  All that does is get votes from short sighted people who would rather get some quick (insignifigant) cash, than say have a president who could mannage the economy and not pluge the country into a HUGE deficit.

Just wanted to say this because I know what you meant by "what do you believe heet".  What you and others are thinking is who is this loud mouthed, arrogant guy who is purposefully trying to offend people? Where the hell did he come from and why is he filling this forum up with posts.  Well it started the other day when I saw that the crazy left had control of these boards and that the truth was being muddied on every level.  Do you know how to offend a liberal?  You tell the truth.  Thats all.  You tell the truth.  What I dont get is if you really think Bush is such a liar and the whole government is a sham then why dont you embrace him?  You guys embraced Bill Clinton for 8 years and that guy lied his ass off and admitted it.  You guys liked him so much that at the end of his term, you rallied to see if you could change the term limits of the presidency.  You liked the fact that he was a great storyteller that you tagged him "the comeback kid", the guy could tell a lie and comback everytime!  Amazing!  Then you disgraced blacks by calling him "the first black president".  If I was a black person I would have fought so hard against that.  He would lie about everything and you flocked to him like little girls at a Ricky Martin concert.  So why the change?  That is if you really believe Bush is such a liar.  And thats why im here.  And im making this forum my home until every socialist falls out of his chair just like Bluedeath did after I dismantled him.  He's so bewildered he hasnt found the chair to post since.  So get comfortable people and be prepared to be offended by your worst enemy.  The truth.

"I'm not sying that we brought the terrorist attacks uppon our selfs, but we did and still do contribute towards the reason for it."

IF thats not the biggest contradiction then what the hell is?
