Shit I forgot.... Expect a Bushism tonight in his statement about President Reagan's death.

Hopefully he keeps it simple.

93 years.

The first President I voted for, and the President I joined the Marine Corps under.

Rest In Peace, Ronnie!

A great man, a visionary  who nearly succeeded in the disarmament of all nuclear warheads in the US and Russia.  I hope we see another president with such passion and conviction in our lifetime.

RIP

I wanted to dedicate this thread to Ronald Reagan, who died yesterday. He was 93 years old. Even if you are democrat, he was a good president, he will be rembered.

An overrated, but still great President and Leader.  I'm glad he won't be suffering with his illness anymore, and he was able to die knowing he served his people well.

Well, he wasn't able to, as he had Alzheimers and couldn't remember anything during the Contra-gate scanadal either (conveniently).
A puppet, pulled by many strings. An actor who believed the USSR was "the beast" from Revelations in the bible.
A "Statesman", whose wife consulted astrologers before allowing him to make decisions.
A buffoon, who allowed tomato ketchup to be classified as a "vegetable" for the purpose of cutting costs on subsidised school meals.
93 wasted years.

his policies may not have worked but at least he had some, he implemented them and brought the country together

You will understand, if others won't, why, with a copy of "Hegemony or Survival" in my hands after driving to Singapore to procure one, why I indulge in what Americans call the "horses laugh".
I respect yr opinion, but Reagan was a puppet of a deeper system of government that set a precedent for what you/we now reap.

Yeah, that whole winning the cold war without any casualties on either side is totally eclipsed by the ketchup-vegetable "scandal."
