Anyone Like Afi?

Hmm, well, as my signature shows I'm a pretty big fan of AFI.
They are a Bit Gothic Rock/Emo as their latest (2003) Album shows...Which is not my personal favourite...If you want to give them a listen, you can go to www.afireinside.net.

Album Suggestions (in this order): Black Sails in the Sunset, The Art Of Drowning, All Hallows E.P, Shut your mouth and open your eyes, Very Proud of Ya, Answer That and Stay Fashionable, Sing the Sorrow (2003)

Give them a look, they are a very respected band.

Also, Alexisonfire are super.

I like AFI but I like as they progressed as a band moreso than I did their old punker sounding music.

Realistically, You could call every single song Emo.
Emo = Emotion/Emotions.
Everyone shows emotion...So, technically, you feel nothing?

Sad, Sad world its becoming.

And then they did that remake cd with Jay-Z was it? Yeah, that was a monstosity of bad-taste-in-music proportions. I thought Linkin Park's music was at least listenable, but that remake was just plain bad.

ok lets make a comparison

The Used - Buried Myself Alive

you almost always pick the best times
to drop the worst lines
you almost made me cry again this time
another false alarm
red flashing lights
well this time I'm not going to watch myself die
I think I made it a game to play your game
and let myself cry
I buried myself alive on the inside
so I could shut you out
and let you go away for a long time

Linkin Park - Papercut

Why does it feel like night today?
Something in here's not right today.
Why am I so uptight today?
Paranoia's all I got left
I don't know what stressed me first
Or how the pressure was fed
But I know just what it feels like
To have a voice in the back of my head
It's like a face that I hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time I lie
A face that laughs every time I fall
(And watches everything)
So I know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is hearing me
Right underneath my skin

They don't look or sound similar at all to me. Chester does sound whiny at times but not really on an emo level really.

Okay let's get some shit straight.

First off:
Guys who wear girl pant's arn't usually emo, they're scene (sXe,hXc, straight ede... etc.)

Second off:
Emo music isn't limited to kids complaining about life.  Alexisonfire is emo, AFI is emo, so on so forth.  Linkin Park is considered nu-metal.  Both bands whine in their music.  Wtf are we arguing about.  A label?  stfu.

EDIT: Wow, and then i realized how old this topic was.

Take a walk around my school, 2/5 guys are wearing girls jeans, they wear tight shirts, have black almost shoulder length hair, and think they are 'tourtered artists' who are masters at their craft by posting their newest 'I died again today because my girlfreind dumped me' crap poem on their DeviantART acount. Thats emo my freind, thats emo.

No one said it was, but the stereotypical Emo music IS in fact kids complaining about life/girlfreind/or something else I dont give a shit about.
