"no Disc" When Disc Is Inserted In Philips Drive

Hi everyone,

Just bought a chipped xbox on ebay (Xecuter 2.2).

It comes with Evox and Avalaunch installed but i think i might have got a bit of a lemon, i have 2 problems with it:

1: 9 out 10 times (regardless of media) it shows "No Disc" when a game or whatever is in, sometimes if i set it to automatically boot games, it does when rebooting, again, all very random so i'm thinking, is this hardware or software?

2: If i turn the chip off, it should go to the ms dashboard right? it doesn't i just get the "your xbox needs tech support. please contact MS" error.

Any help?

Edit: According to the tut's, i have a philips drive.
