QUOTE (Zombie Stalker @ Feb 1 2004, 09:29 PM)
Hi!

I love music. All my life I've collected vinyls and stuff like that and I really now a lot about underground 80's music.

But it's one genre I really havent got my eyes on until recently, the flipped out 80's music! Are you familiar with Oingo Boingo? Then you know what I'm talking about!

Okay, I in short, I am looking for some really cool and flipped out music like Oingo Boingo but more freaked. So, how about it? Got any tips?

Ob! I live in Sweden, so my english isn't as good as you can see.

Best regards

Klas

Basically anything Mike Patton is involved with, including bands such as Mr.Bungle, Fantomas and Tomahawk etc... There's also a band under his label Ipecac called "Ruins" who are pretty weird. All of the following songs fit the description of "flipped out rock" very well. I don't think you will be dissapointed.

                                Songs to start off with

1.Mr.Bungle - "My ass is on fire"
                                 2.Mr.Bungle - "Goodbye sober day"
                                 3.Fantomas - the whole "Director's Cut" album
                                 4.Ruins - "Praha in spring"

You like secret cheifs too?

There is a band called Us Jme Doma (not sure if thats spelt right) They are from Prague and are apparently very popular there. One of my bands played with them for about two months when they were in Canada and I thought they were the definition of crazy rock - very funny live show too
