I had a good idea to start a thread containing all kinds of quotes by famous people or just quotes you find very meaningful in some way or another.

I'll start it off by posting a few.

My favorites come from Orwells 1984:

Jester reminded me of these with Orwell. So good he gets two from a single book a few pages(?) apart.
