there are a TON to choose from but I personally love adobe products so, adobe premiere and adobe after effects. (probably just get the whole CS3 suite if you can pull that off)

pinnacle for some solid basic video editing (very user friendly)

Macs = the best biggrin.gif

And yeah...you can't go wrong with adobe products. Personally i don't like pinnacle. I tried it at school and couldn't get any of the results i was going for

Adobe Premier is awesome, I've used that, Fina Cut Pro I find annoying although it is good, Adobe Premier is good since it supports Dual Core Video rendering and if you have a lot of ram to it sure does speed up your rendering times. I've heard Avid is meant to be good (very keyboard based) but I've never used it, thats meant to be the "PC" version of Final Cut Pro in terms of industry standards (I hate that term)..

well it depends on how far you want to go in to editing...

Adobe Products = A+
Vegas Studio
Pinnacle
Ulead
Movie Shaker
Movie Maker

there are tons out there...you just got to know what you want to do, and how much you want to spend...but you can't go wrong with adobe....my opinion
