How Much Would A 1975 Mustang Ii Be Worth?
« on: August 06, 2007, 01:31:00 PM »

The paint is pretty much all gone, significant rust.  Various parts of the body kit thing are busted up, the passenger door doesn't open, the driver window is gone, there is no interior cloth stuff and the seats will definitely have to be replaced.  The engine needs some work, it needs new tires, no radio or anything.  I have some pictures on my phone if anybody wants to see those.  The guy is asking 3500 but I was thinking more like 300 or 400.  What do some of you guys think?

Weren't really pretty, preformance oriented, or popular.  They are the ugly stepchild of the Mustang family and no one likes them

I didn't think it was that bad looking, definitely not the best though.  Oh well, I was just wondering if it would be worth 2 or 3 hundred, I probably wouldn't do much else to it, mostly just to use as something cheaper to drive than my truck.

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Even at 2-300 I wouldn't touch that sucker in that condition.  Mustang IIs in decent condition run about $1500, so for you to buy a busted up rust bucket at that cost would be a dumb move.  That guy clearly doesn't know what those cars are worth.

Haha, alright, do any of you guys happen to know about what kind of gas mileage they get?  Thanks for the help and great advice also!

I asked my uncle (engineer and used to work on cars) about the gas mileage of one of those and he said it would probably suck so screw that car.

You really need to do more research on cars.  I'm sorry but an old Mustang would be one of the last cars on my list if I was concerned about gas mileage.  Even the 4 banger Mustangs barely broke the 20 MPG rating.  Give us an idea on your budget and what you are looking for and we might be able to steer you in the right direction.

The budget is my problem...I have about 400 bucks I can spare.  That's why I was lookin at that old junker.  Right now my truck gets about 13mpg so anything above that I'm interested in, preferably 25+ though.

I'm thinking an old honda civic hatchback would be your best bet for something cheap and good on gas.

Yeah that's what I've been looking for, but nobody ever wants to sell the old ones.  All of em are o4 or something and I can't afford that stuff.

My dad bought a 77 MGB for 2500 that has beautiful paint and needs some body work. It has cancer around some of the trim. Most of the parts are in good condition and 8/9's of them are still original.

I dont think the mustang is worth 3500 or even 300 for that matter judging on what he bought (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
