Don't know if the price is way high. These things are so friggin rare at this point. I'd really like it. Damn I hate having to make decisions that involve more then a few hundred bucks. Feels like a huge waste, but damn do I want the stupid little thing.

With 196K on the engine, I would think you would have some serious bargaining power.  I don't care how well taken care of it is, if it has that many miles it is going to have to be replaced soon.  I know it's rare but then again a non-turbo sprint isn't even worth $1K in mint condition.  I would say if you can't get it for $2K or less then don't bother.

certainly a neat little car.  that milage is high but if the compression and everything is still good then who cares.  Is it close enough to you that you can check it out without a huge cost to yourself?
