Sorry I am new on this forum and didn't know where to post this thread.

In december 2009 I bought an xbox360 and I think I will mod it, but I also love the mutiplayer games so I need another console. I have an xbox elite 120GB.

I know that this is an xbox forum but please try to be objective when recommending me a console.
So here are my options:

1. Mod my current console and get a PS3.
Good because:

I could play both xbox and playstation games this way.
I would have a blu-ray player (I don't own one yet, but I am also not sure if I would really use it)
PSN is free

Bad because:

I would have to sell my current xbox games
I've heard that PSN is a lot more crappier than xbox live

2. Get a used xbox360 that is/can be JTAGed and leave my current xbox360 as is:
Good because:

It would cost less than a PS3
Won't have to sell my current xbox games

Bad because

Xbox live costs money
Won't be able to play PS3 games and no bluray player

I have both my self, PSN is fine I even use it on Wifi but I've never used my Blu-Ray drive for movies I've had my PS3 for over 1 year. I'd rather spend the money on games. I think PSN is fine for the right games. But 360 games appear a little cheaper for me after a few weeks. Just save up and you can get both, it's also not far of XMAS. I'd keep one for Live though Live makes the 360 good.

They are both almost the exact same. Flip a coin or something.
Bluray is very overrated IMO, but PS3 is still by far the better media player if you care about that. You get video previews of DIVX movies right on the XMB

My problem is that none of my friends has a console so that makes the choice even harder. Well I am really not interested in the media player.

What I like is that in my country 70% of all console owners have a ps3 so trading games would be a lot easier. The other thing is that PSN is free so for that money I could buy +1 game every year. But I am really concerned about PSN. If it's laggy then I'd go with the xbox.
I think I will get another xbox instead.

unfortunately no. But everybody registered as UK player and we buy everything from amazon uk (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Personally i'd get the PS3.
I have the 360 and PS3 and it's great you can play all the 360 exclusives and PS3 exclusives.

It's really a win win situation and the PS3 Blu-ray player is still rated as a great Blu-ray player a few places say it's right next to the oppo for picture quality.

There are definetly PS3 games worth playing Heavy Rain,The Uncharted games,God of War 3 I never thought i'd even play 1 game on the PS3 figured it was going to be my BR Player and it came as a suprise that I have played through quite a few games all listed and a few more.
