Actually, I would prefer it if I could make the XBMC my main dash, but I get the same error messages.

Do you have ftp access via a pc when you boot normally?

You can ftp through the xbox using flashfxp or a similar ftp program.

Copy the evoxdash.xbe and evox.ini to the root of C then reboot.

EDIT: To use xbmc as a dash is simple, and there are many tuts to do it. It involves the xbe to be renamed and the xbmc.xml to be copied to the root of C.

Try formatting the HDD and then use xbhdm or something similar to make the xbox partitions and files if the above fails.

Try downloading Slayer's or Auto Installer Deluxe 2.1 FINAL from The Usual Places, burn to disc, stick disc in your xbox & power it off. Turn xbox back on with disc still in drive. If it works, you can reinstall your M$ dash files and/or other dash files.

The only way I can access the evox dash is if I use the auto-installer disc to boot directly to the dashboard. Without the installer I get an error message.

How can I install the Evox Dash so it will boot without the autoinstaller.

Exactly.

Only problem is he's using the wrong auto installer disc. AID 2.02 is outdated and very buggy. He's better off using either Slayer's OR AID 2.1 FINAL.

His best bet would to use Slayer's and reformat/rebuild his HDD. Doing this will fix his error problems AND will install EVOX onto his xbox.

I read some where that installing the XBMC on the c drive for use as a dash could cause complications later.

well, what modchip do you have, because some chips enable you to select what .xbe file to load as the dashboard.

The default.xbe (for xbmc) has to be renamed for evoxdash.xbe (after renaming the original evoxdash.xbe to orig_evox.xbe or something) and keep the xbmc.xml file on c:, then have evoxdash.xbe as the boot priority.

If all goes well, xbmc should popup as the dash (remember to edit the xbmc.xml to change the home dir to where ever dir the xbmc folder is. e.g if it was in E:/Apps put <homedir>E:/Apps/</homedir> but use backslash(!) )
