Here is the readme.txt in the latest beta.. cant believe no one said anything here!
QUOTE
Beta version of X2 4975 Bios

Use at your own risk
Only use this if you know what you are doing, you might destoy your XBox!
This is a unoffical release, and some features might not be 100% complete,
4975 Final will be released in a few weeks.

Some new amazing features:

IDE-drivers supports 44-bit adressing, meaning no more 127GB limit of HDD!
Playing originals even if you replace your DVD-drive!
Support for Wireless LAN with use of USB-adapter! (Tested with Netgear Ma101)
SAMBA network share device support!

Edit: Ahhh crap, I hope this is not a hoax, I cant test it out this second.. but I loaded up X2 Bios Manager to see the info on the .bin and it reads as x2 4974 red. if anyone else grabbed this and can test it out, it would be appreciated, or else you all will have to wait till I get home, in about 7 hours from now.

Doesn't it seem too good to be true?

Hopefully it's not.

127? You mean 137G.
I guess this is why a 512k bios is needed.

200+Gig HDs,    PC-DVD .... Excellent  :D  :D

FINAL WORD: It's a fake.

If the fact that the MD5 hash comes up as a pre-existing BIOS isn't enough, the so-called 'features' should be a big red flag. "127GB limit" - Team Xecutor would NOT make a mistake like that, nor would they refer to 4975 as "beta" as if there would be a 4975 "final"

I'll leave the thread open, so long as people don't get stupid.

Damnit.. yup, too good to be true.. I questioned the 127Gig myself, I typed in 137G then read the readme again and changed it.. you can lock it, toss it in the trash, whatever you want to do with this thread.. I dont wanna fool anyone if its a total fake. Also, its was a 256K file called x2_4975_beta.bin

* IDE-drivers supports 44-bit adressing, meaning no more 127GB limit of HDD!
Possible, but this wouldn't be the only change they would make anyway. There would be fundemental changes to the partioning, so we'll see changes in this as well when/if it ACTUALLY happens. The hoaxer also fails to realize it's 137GB limit, not 127GB.... Team Xecutor would not make this mistake.

* Playing originals even if you replace your DVD-drive!
Not going to happen. If they could do this, we'd already see utilities to read Xbox discs in PCs. In fact, this requires a DVD-ROM FIRMWARE CHANGE. It has nothign to do with the Xbox BIOS.

* Support for Wireless LAN with use of USB-adapter! (Tested with Netgear Ma101)
Ummmm... dumb. Lousy guess on the part of the hoaxer. It's easy enough to hook into an external wireless LAN adapter using the ethernet. Why would they bother with a USB based ethernet port??

* SAMBA network share device support!
Blah. This would be a pointless feature at this point, for many, many reasons.

I understand, Ace25 - not a problem, I've been fooled (the L33 incident) before. It happens.

Like I said, I'll leave this thread open for a while, as long as it remains under control and people realize it's a fake release.

FYI the limit is in the BIOS, not the chipset, but it's 48-bit not 44-bit... A few mobo manufacturers have released BIOS updates for old BX-chipset mobos that support 48-bit addressing.
Samba-support should be implemented in the dashboard (like the FTP-server), not in the BIOS.
