What Can You Do With A Ripped Backup Games?

So I just watched this tutorial on how to rip your xbox360 games.  Are you actually able to burn it to a dvd and play it on your xbox360?  I always thought the 360 would read burned games.

If you want to void your warranty you can open your Xbox 360 and modify it so that you can play copies of the xbox games on Dual Layer DVD media.

So far this only works for one of the type types that are in the Xbox 360 (Toshiba/Samsung)
