Known Problem... Can't Login To Xlink
« on: December 04, 2003, 03:10:00 AM »

... I (think) I tried everything... but I still can't log in to Xlink.. Please help me.
BTW according to the router i'm using (Sweex broadband router) I forwarded the ports correctly and even if I disable my firewall in the router, it continues to give the "blabla , forward ports blabla" message. And if my firewall is enabled, I use the NAT settings to open the ports --> same prob... if set up a DMZ --> same prob... I am getting desperate (and not to say more frustrated by the minute  )

Well, I haven't posted the screens yet. But I encountered a really weird thing yesterday.
I pulled out my router, and connected my PC straight to my modem to see if I would be able to connect to Xlink then. But even without a router (and ANY firewall) it keeps giving me a message that my ports need to be forwarded.. How can this be when I don't have anything running? Would this suggest that the problem lies with my ISP? I'm in the Netherlands and have my ADSL connection through Mxstream, my ISP is Planet Internet.

Does this shed some new light on the subject? Or have I totally drawn the wrong conclusions?  blink.gif

In this case, I didn't connect the xbox to my PC. It was just to check if I could log in at Xlink in general. Or is the xbox connection to the PC a necessary condition just to log in to Xlink? In that case it would explain why it didn't work...  huh.gif

PS. Normally it's through my router.

Apparently NTL have blocked both the UDP ports so if your ISP is NTL you will have to wait for KAI.

Pretty sure i read in a post on here. I am with NTL, i was connected to xlink fine then all of a sudden unable to connect, the post stated that due to NTL's xbox live subscription
theybwere blocking both 34518 and 34519.

I will search for post then post link here later.
