Quick Tutorial For Live On Modded Xbox
« on: December 09, 2003, 05:16:00 PM »

LET ME MAKE THIS STRAIGHT FOR YOU - XBOX LIVE DOES NOT BAN LARGE HD USERS NOR USERS WHO HAVE HOMEBREW SOFTWARE ON THE HD, LIKE EVOLUTIONX OR A GAME.

I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE. THAT IS THE TRUTH AS OF MAY 19, 2004. IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO MAKE THOSE THINGS UNTRUE, THIS WILL BE REMOVED.

THIS IS A PINNED TOPIC. PINNED TOPICS SPEAK THE TRUTH.. NOT A SINGLE POST FROM A BURIED TOPIC.

OK, AND NOW ONTO THE QUICK TUTORIAL..

If your Xbox can boot with the modchip off, then you can use Live on your modded Xbox.

If it doesn't boot, then read this:

To disable Live all together with the modchip off, flash your modchip with X2 4981 or greater BIOS. It will disable Live when the modchip is on.

Don't know how to flash your modchip? Go here:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?c=12

Since your Xbox can log into Live automatically in the MS dash, turn off auto sign-in in the MS dash to avoid any future problems with this feature.

Also, in backups that are Live enabled, do not make a profile in the game that matches your gamertag.

Xbox Live does not currently ban large HD users.

Game backups, no matter HD or DVDR, do not work on Live. If you try to use a backup on Live, your Xbox's EEPROM will be banned.
