Games That Support System Link
« on: February 14, 2004, 10:03:00 PM »

I think we should also mention that for the Rainbow Six 3 system link to work both versions of the games have to be the same. (XBox Live downloads a patch for it and makes it impossible to play together between a game that is not updated)

That pretty much can go for all Xbox Live games. Most anyways. If content is on one Xbox, and not on the other, sometimes they won't find eachother. The issue exists with Mechassault.

Rainbow Six 3 will find the other xbox if one is updated, but it will not allow you connect to a hosted game by either one.

I have 2 boxes. 1 modded, the other I use for Live. If I turn off my mod and use my disk and connect to live and download the patches can I do system link between my 2 boxes (modded playing burn)?

The easiest way to keep the games the same version, requires xbox's to have mod-chip installed, is to go through the folders within E, easier to use UnleashX, and delete the files within the update folder, the main file is default.xbe but I think you have to delete the others aswell. For example you can do this on RS3, SC:PD and GR:IT (seems to be Tom Clancy games). Games like PGR2, MM3 and UC don't seem to be affected by version problems.

 Ok, calm down  ;)

I added 2 of the 3 you mentioned, because Pandora Tomorrow was already there. If you want the list updated, just tell me in a simple post

Only system link games work on tunneling services, like XBConnect or X-Link. If the game is Xbox Live enabled, but has no system link option, then you can't play it with a tunneling service.

As a side note, you can host a game under "Halo" for example, but the actual game being played is NFL Fever 2004. The whole idea of game listing is so people know what you are playing.  :)
