How to modify your BIOS

QUOTE (Kizurt @ Sep 21 2003, 08:35 PM)
Hey< I love xbtool you can do some amazing stuff with it. Now for my problem I can make great bio's but when used inconjunction with the newest evox it wont allow me to run games from my hard drive it seems to just restart evox. also a virgin bios will not do this however the virgin bios will not allow me to utilize my G drive. Any help would be appreciated.

Which BIOS are you using (when you say "the newest evox", I assume you mean their dashboard)? If it's an evox BIOS you are using, could it be that your games need a media patch BIOS?

I'm also curious how to change the text back to Matrix Inside like it was with my first bios. Once I switched to a newer bios it was back to the plain ol' MS text/logo.

when using xbtool to change bios colour, animation, etc, some games will no longer boot (PGR2, burnout 2). this happens with both xecuter and evox bioses. it seems editing the bios makes the media patch not work.

has anybody else had this problem?

Are you using the debug config (there's one in the Configs\More Configs folder)? If you put the RC4 in any config other than a debug.ini it won't work. Also, BFM.ini (in the BFM folder) is also a debug config, so you can copy that to the Configs folder and use it if you prefer.

Does anyone know where I can get a nice high res image of the xbox splash screen? Id like to mess about with the colors in photoshop so I dont have to flash a new bios each time I want to see it.

Also what exactly to the color stages corrospond to?

And does disabling the animation actually make the machine boot up any faster?

Thanks
