Is it possible to simply switch the lasers between drives? I have a Lite on 74*** (Whatever the rest is) that isn't reading disks. It tries, then says open tray, so I'm assuming it is the laser. I have a couple Hitachi Drives and a Sammy MS28 Drive around, didn't know if the lasers could simply be swapped or not. (Or Possibly just the boards?)

Hitachi and TS drives shares the same laser models (hd63 & hd68 if I recall correctly).

LiteOn and Benq use other models but share the same laser models too, can't remember the model, but you can't toss a TS laser into LiteOn and vice versa.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. its too bad all my parts drive are compatible with each other not the drive I need.
