Halo System-link......
« on: July 12, 2003, 07:25:00 AM »

I tried connecting two xboxes up using an Ethernet cable.

They don't recognize each other.  I connect them up to my

Router using the Ethernet cable and they recognize each

other.  In the Halo Manual, it says use an XBOX Link Cable

for two systems and Ethernet cables for network play.

What is so special about the XBOX Link Cable?  (Does it

have its own network?<---Sarcastically).  What is the deal?

Is there a way to HAck into the XBOX to allow it to recognize

Ethernet cables when its just XBOX-to-XBOX?  Or a HACK in

Halo through a patch or WinHex?

U cant go Xbox-to-xbox with a ethernet cable.. u will need to go with a Crossover cable in order to transfer data both ways without using a router, hub etc.

all you need for 2 xbox conection is a crossover conection .

for more xboxs you need a hub and some standard net cables .

No need for expensive router unless you want to go online through your PC .

No.

A patch cable is the name of the regular ethernet cable that you use to connect to the internet.

Best to buy one. They're real cheap. You could also make your own out of a patch cable.

Yup all the "official" cable is, is a regular cross-over cable.. nothing really special at all.
